I love superheroes, but I didn’t know I’d fall in love with one.

I sling coffee… for four more days. When I took over the Grind House Cafe, I didn’t think I’d be closing the doors after just two years. Apparently making a killer macchiato and dishing out first rate dating advice isn’t enough to make the rent. Perhaps if I listened to my own advice I wouldn’t be doing this alone.

My luck might be improving when a handsome cub sits down at my counter, ghosted by some idiot from an app. He shrugs it off, but I’ve been there and nobody deserves to sit alone looking like that. Free coffee. Sage advice. One surprise kiss. Who is saving who?

A late night walk brings me face to face with Cobalt, Vanguard City’s newest bearish hero. He’s charming and determined to protect Vanguard’s citizens, me included. If his smile didn’t grab my attention, the skin tight leather suit cupping his… Sorry, I got distracted. I can’t shake the feeling I’ve met him before.

Now I’m being held hostage by supervillains, my cafe is four days from closing, and the hero trying to save me looks like he could use a little saving himself.

Good thing I’m better in a crisis than I look.
