Seductive Architect

I always knew the truth was out there. Nobody believed me. They are human after all.

As Vanguard’s foremost expert on shadowy cabals and corporate cover-ups, I’ve seen everything this city has to offer. I trust my AI more than I trust people. The last person I put my faith in left without a word. Machines at least tell you when they’re broken.

The downstairs mailroom clerk has made it to the conspiracy board. Burly. Relentlessly cheerful. Keeps a book of “firsts.” Rain. Smell of fresh cut grass. Taco trucks. Who hasn’t eaten at a taco truck? He finds everything wondrous and I can’t figure out if that’s endearing or suspicious. The printer thinks I should get him naked. For science, obviously.

The conspiracy I’ve been chasing for years is closer than I thought. So is the truth about the man I’m falling for. I didn’t expect them to be one and the same.

Still, maybe the printer has a point.
