Tempting Decisions

I’ve seen every kind of hero stumble through Midnight Alley: drunk telepaths, flirty speedsters, one guy who tried to pick a fight with his reflection. But none of them hit me like the newest patron, a brooding hero decked out in head to toe leather. Six foot something, broad shoulders, and a smirk that makes my knees weak.

Turns out he can bend time and doesn’t hate my bad puns.

I don’t mix business with pleasure, but when he texts me after hours that hard line in the sand vanishes faster than a villain at a cape sale. When he saves my life it’s the congratulatory kiss that makes time stand still. See what I did there?

Problem is, dating a century old superhero who never ages means he’s already buried everyone he’s ever loved. I want to chase him but I can’t shake the feeling I’m just another name on a very long list.

If I can’t have forever, I’ll take every moment between now and then.
